There will be no more updates made to this page. Instead, I will be adding a section for my 2002 Impreza WRX Sport Wagon. I enjoyed my 98 2.5 RS for the duration of my lease. Now I get to start all over again with a turbo and some extra cargo room!

I picked up my new 2002 Impreza WRX Wagon from Hodges Subaru in Ferndale. It's very nice. It's quick, but not obnoxious. I'll create a new section for it soon. I'll be putting my Camaro away for winter in a few weeks, but this should ease the separation anxiety.

I returned my Subaru to the dealership last Thursday. I also put a deposit on a 2002 WRX Wagon. I decided to buy this one; the RS was my first venture with a Subaru and I wanted to gauge the reliability and dealer attitude. Both came through with flying colors.

The end-of-lease inspection for my Subaru just finished. The inspector was pretty cool. He found no chargeable damage, everything was "normal wear and tear." That's a big relief. I was pretty sure it would be o.k., but I tend to panic (mostly for sport).

Since I have my Camaro to play with now, I've removed the SAFC and the JC Sports intake. I've reset the ECU and can confirm that those mods alone greatly enhanced the perceived performance of the Impreza. The throttle response is now softer and the car does not rev as quickly. I miss the growl of the intake and the "touch-of-a-button" tuning of the AFC. I've decided to buy (not lease) a 2002 Impreza WRX Wagon so my dogs can enjoy the ride too. My Impreza proved invaluable during this past winter's snow storms as well as a thrill in perfect weather. Subaru has proven itself as a great company that makes great products. I plan on being a customer for the foreseeable future.

My Impreza lease expires on October 15th of this year. I'm planning on turning it in at the end of the lease. The ST-X would be my next Subaru of choice. However, it may not be available in time. Plan B is to lease a scooby-wagon for 2 years, then get a ST-X.

My Impreza is FINALLY out of the shop and appears to be in perfect running order. The dealership repaired a head gasket leak as well as a bad MAP sensor. After a 2 day test period I've reinstalled the S-AFC and the JC Sports air intake. I've finally realized the performance increase from these mods. With the car back to full power, I can actually feel a noticeable improvement in torque and throttle response. I have yet to decide whether or not I'll install an aftermarket exhaust.
